Hal\u00e1sztelek is located not far from the southern border of the capital. A constantly developing, quiet small town that still preserves its small-town atmosphere. People lived in the area of Hal\u00e1sztelek as early as the Stone Age, although the settlement only acquired its name thousands of years later. It is no coincidence: the great floods of the Danube made the area uninhabitable for shorter or longer periods of time. The Romans themselves also struggled quite a bit with the unfortunate conditions caused by the water, which is why no permanent settlement was established here for a long time. Only the road in the northern part of the area of today's Hal\u00e1sztelek led to the province of Pannonia, or the fortified border line (limes) protecting the northern part of the empire.<\/p>\n

After the fall of the Roman Empire, the area was depopulated for a long time, only being populated again around the 9th century. But even then we are not talking about permanent residents, since the conquering Hungarians only used the northern part of Csepel Island as a summer residence. Three settlements \u2013 Sz\u0151l\u0151s, H\u00e1ros, and T\u00f6k\u00f6l \u2013 were temporarily established here, of which T\u00f6k\u00f6l can be considered the predecessor of today's Hal\u00e1sztelek. Today, of the three conquering settlements, only T\u00f6k\u00f6l exists independently, while H\u00e1ros has become a district of the united Budapest \u2013 although the latter is now located in the 22nd district.<\/p>\n

The name Hal\u00e1sztelek itself first appeared around 1700. For a long time, the settlement was not independent, but was considered a suburb of T\u00f6k\u00f6l. Its official name was Herminamajor, after the daughter of the landowner M\u00f3r Wahrmann. Much later, after the two world wars, an independent settlement was established here in 1950 under the name Herminatelep, which after one name was given a new name: from 1951 onwards it has been called Hal\u00e1sztelek.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
