In such cases, we look for a quick solution, and often the first thought is \u201ewe\u2019ll fix it ourselves\u201d or \u201elet\u2019s call my buddy who knows how to do this.\u201d There are plenty of videos and articles on the internet about \u201ehome drain cleaning,\u201d so it\u2019s easy to feel like we can handle the problem on our own.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"695\">But what happens when a well-intentioned friend&#039;s help costs more than a professional&#039;s fee? Now I&#039;ll tell you an instructive story that&#039;s exactly what it&#039;s all about.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tQfg1BloiAE?si=Ldotk9jgz0x8t77v\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"746\">The story \u2013 this is how the \u201erescue operation\u201d began\u201d<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"985\">On a typical Saturday morning, our main character, Peter, and his wife noticed that the toilet wasn&#039;t flushing properly. At first, it only drained slowly, then it stopped completely. They immediately thought: &quot;Let&#039;s call Zoli, he knows everything!&quot;\u201e<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"987\" data-end=\"1183\">Zoli, the good friend, was an enthusiastic DIYer who often installed faucets, repaired locks, and, according to him, had even seen a few clogs. Moreover, he didn&#039;t help out for money, but out of friendship.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1185\" data-end=\"1372\">Before he left, he quickly searched YouTube for \u201etoilet clogs at home.\u201d He found a video where they \u201esolved\u201d the problem in minutes with a rubber hose and a bucket of water.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1379\" data-end=\"1438\">The first attempt \u2013 when they didn&#039;t yet suspect trouble<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1666\">Zoli immediately got to work upon arriving at the scene. Pumping and rinsing with hot water didn&#039;t help, so he took out his homemade &quot;tube camera&quot; - which was actually a phone attached to the end of a long cable, wrapped in foil.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1668\" data-end=\"1928\">However, the device not only did not help, but it also got stuck in the pipe. Peter and Zoli tried to pull it out for an hour, but the cable kept slipping deeper and deeper. By then, the wife was also starting to worry because the water was standing on the bathroom floor and the smell was not pleasant.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1935\" data-end=\"1989\">The situation escalated \u2013 when it was the wall\u2019s turn<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1990\" data-end=\"2174\">Since the cable didn&#039;t come out, Zoli decided that the easiest way would be to break open the pipe behind the wall. He thought that a small hole would be enough for cleaning and then &quot;wall it back up.&quot;.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2176\" data-end=\"2398\">However, the demolition turned out to be much bigger than planned.
