Drain filter and its application – How to maintain the sink?
When to use and when NOT to use the drain filter!
The drain filter is a very small part of everyday washing and cleaning. It is only 4-8 cm in size, yet it has a big function in everyday life to prevent drain blockages. Its material can be: plastic or metal, maybe chrome-plated plastic, but I have also seen it made of a jelly-like material.

It is very simple to use:
Simply insert the drain into the drain opening and use everything as before. If the drain filter becomes full of dirt and food debris, do not force it through the filter with your finger! Pour it into the trash can and then put it back into the drain opening.
If you don't have such a small tool, don't worry, you can solve the filtering problem with a simple kitchen tool. You probably have some kind of filtering tool at home. Such as a pasta scoop, a tea strainer or a coffee grounds filter insert. These are simple and great tools and can perform the same function as the aforementioned drain filter. Place it near the drain opening when washing dishes and you're done!

Where can the drain filter be used:
- at the sink to filter out food residue
- for filtering hair in showers and bathtubs
- in sinks to filter out heavy dirt and hair
- in the event of an automatic washing machine draining into the bathtub
When should you NOT use this useful tool?
- If you are sure that only clean, so to speak not too polluted water will flow down the drain!
This small filter contains tiny holes or gaps to catch debris, food scraps and hair. While it does its job, it has one small flaw. Namely, it slows down the water flow rate. Slow water washes the shore! It also makes it easier for soap and greasy dirt to be carried down the drain. That is why a big flush should be used from time to time. With this small flush, we can perform maintenance, for example at the sink.
How do we maintain the sink?
THE sink Maintenance is very simple:
Remove the drain filter! Plug the drain with the plug and let the sink fill with hot water. When the sink is full, pull the plug, but do not turn off the hot water until the water has drained from the sink. If necessary, the toilet-You can also pump it with a pump to make the cleaning process more efficient. Repeat if necessary if you are not satisfied with the result. When the water has drained, put the filter back in and everything can go on, you can continue washing the dishes. This cleaning method can be used for all drains!
So, if you only wash your hands or do an activity that doesn't involve a lot of dirt, at most using a lot of cleaning agents, never use the drain filter!
