What is the purpose of maintaining the sewage system?
As I mentioned, I have been working in the industry since 1988, so I have a few ideas and experiences about why sewers MUST be maintained. I will try to share these experiences with you in this description.
When I knocked on the door of the then FTSZ.V. in the early eighties, I never thought that more than 25 years later I would be giving advice based on the experiences I gained there. unclogging and in the area of canal maintenance. At that time, we started work at 6 a.m. There were two foremen waiting, one for us, anti-clogging skilled workers, the other the sniffing drivers. After the morning coffee, which cost 5 HUF at the time, we got the job. Usually 3-4 channel In addition to maintenance work, there were also 1-2 blockage removal jobs, if not a full-day or even a week-long sewer maintenance for a large company. To be honest, I found sewer maintenance to be a very boring job at the time, since we had to work for the same company all day.
We took water into the IFA Woma, then we pulled the entire system down from one cleaning hole to the other with high pressure to the street connection. There were places where there was a sewer network of several kilometers. If necessary, a suction truck also helped with the work, sucking out the large amount of sediment and mud from the sewer. Yes, a large amount of sediment, although there were places where we performed sewer maintenance every year or every six months or every quarter, and still a lot of dirt accumulated, the feeling of tree roots growing in the sewer, which could be kept at a level, since we did not let it completely destroy the sewage pipe.
The other very important goal is the many blockage and the associated work of clearing blockages was avoided, with no small success.
At that time, there weren't many drain unblocking craftsmen, and not many companies did this work. Despite this, we won, because thanks to the sewer maintenance, there was little work and we didn't have to deal with a lot of blockages and unblocking.
Only rarely did the sewer have to be excavated, dug out or replaced due to the root system. Sewer maintenance is a very important task, but not only in large companies, but also in the sewers of kitchens and restaurants, where the abundance of grease can bind into the sewer with great force, even to something as hard as limestone. Not to mention those restaurants where a lift pump is in operation. In the tank of the lift pump, like a grease trap, a lot of grease and detergent, seasoned with a piece of bone or two, collects and destroys our pump, corrodes the seal, and can break the rotors.
If you are concerned about your sewage system and want it to operate at full capacity for a long time, consider and try sewer maintenance. If not every six months, then at least once a year or two, have your sewage system cleaned with a high-pressure sewer cleaning vehicle.
If you require and would like the work to be done perfectly, we are happy to assist you, you can check the work with a camera sewer inspection device!
