Sewer cleaning in Halásztelken

Halásztelek is located not far from the southern border of the capital. A constantly developing, quiet small town that still preserves its small-town atmosphere. Today, Halásztelek is home to nearly 10 thousand residents, but its population is dynamically expanding. While the city has a good geographical location for transportation, the floods and inland waters that appear from time to time can still cause problems for the residents here.

Small town on the floodplain

People lived in the area of Halásztelek as early as the Stone Age, although the settlement only acquired its name thousands of years later. It is no coincidence: the great floods of the Danube made the area uninhabitable for shorter or longer periods of time. The Romans themselves also struggled quite a bit with the unfortunate conditions caused by the water, which is why no permanent settlement was established here for a long time. Only the road in the northern part of the area of today's Halásztelek led to the province of Pannonia, or the fortified border line (limes) protecting the northern part of the empire.

After the fall of the Roman Empire, the area was depopulated for a long time, only being populated again around the 9th century. But even then we are not talking about permanent residents, since the conquering Hungarians only used the northern part of Csepel Island as a summer residence. Three settlements – Szőlős, Háros, and Tököl – were temporarily established here, of which Tököl can be considered the predecessor of today's Halásztelek. Today, of the three conquering settlements, only Tököl exists independently, while Háros has become a district of the united Budapest – although the latter is now located in the 22nd district.

The name Halásztelek itself first appeared around 1700. For a long time, the settlement was not independent, but was considered a suburb of Tököl. Its official name was Herminamajor, after the daughter of the landowner Mór Wahrmann. Much later, after the two world wars, an independent settlement was established here in 1950 under the name Herminatelep, which after one name was given a new name: from 1951 onwards it has been called Halásztelek.

Fighting floods and inland waters

The settlement of Halásztelek received city status in 2008. The entire settlement has retained its garden-town charm to this day, with most residents living in single-storey houses. This is precisely why our staff encounter problems typical of family houses – e.g. root ingrowth, septic tank leaks, etc. – which they always solve in a professional and efficient manner. Since the town is located close to areas at risk from flooding, the prevention and elimination of related damage is also a significant task. Since the town can be quickly approached via the M0 motorway, the channel Cleaning work can be started sooner, as in the event of a problem, arrival can occur more quickly compared to more distant settlements.
