Thawing frozen sewers and frozen sewers!

His channel is frozen and he doesn't know, how to read it?

The drain channel is frozen and he doesn't know, whether the chemicals will damage it?

I will try to answer these questions in this article. Like a couple of years ago, the extreme weather came again this year, when it's so cold, whatever -20 fok, but in many cases -25 degree can also be measured in some settlements. That's when we're happy, that the parasites under the ground or the bacilli above the ground also die because of the cold. But what causes many larvae to die underground? 60 cm deep?

The answer is very simple! It just freezes. Underground, however, are not only rodents and parasites, insects live. There lies, among many other things, the channel we pipe, and our plumbing system as well. Surely, in the great cold, they also get a share of the good, and the cold does not spare them either.

If at that time, when the water pipe we dug its place, we were lazy and did not dig below the 80 cm frost limit, akkor bizony elfagyhat ebben az extrém időben.

But why?

Unfortunately, there is always water in the water pipe. It is, when no one is using it, it freezes in most cases, since this is the +8 °C drinking water can only freeze, if you have no flow, that is, if standing in the pipe.

Why does the channel freeze?, since in principle it does not hold water, so it is empty?

The answer is very simple! A frozen sewer can be caused by several things.

  • the slope is not good and there is stagnant water in the pipe, so-called water bag, which can freeze
  • the slope of the pipe is not good blockage arises, which can also freeze
  • Fák gyökerei miatt blockage alakul ki ami megfagyhat

The slope of the channel is good, but still the sewage freezes in the sewer! Why?

  • The channel is not dug to an adequate depth, so the incoming water can freeze in the ice-cold pipe, which forms a knurled surface at the bottom of the channel. Because of this, the dirt can accumulate on this rec, which later causes blockage, then this blocked channel can freeze!
  • Tree roots slow down the water's path, if they have grown into the canal, and the channel is blocked as mentioned above

What can you do to prevent frostbite during the period when there is a risk of frost??

My suggestion is the following:

  • Pour it 10-20 liter of hot water 1-2 kg of salt, then let it melt, in the evening pour this mixture into the WC-be. the resulting solution is more difficult to freeze.
  • Chemical treatment is not bad either, but expensive
  • The other option is the water tap left on the drain, which also warms the soil to some extent.

I know, the proposal is not cost-effective, but cheaper, like thawing a frozen channel, with one or another specialist!

If the sewer pipe in your garden is frozen, feel free to call me. With our machines specialized for this task, we have already melted up to 100m of frozen pipeline!
