What is the task of a sewage treatment plant??

When you need to use it?

Its application is most needed when, when sewage drainage is difficult to solve. There are still such settlements today, villages, homesteads, which channel system part, or not developed at all. In this case, the use of biological wastewater treatment equipment is recommended.

What is waste water made of??

Even before we answer questions about the operation of the biological sewage treatment plant, important, to examine, what is domestic waste water and what does it consist of?.

Wastewater contains a lot of pollutants, such as human cell remains, feces, food scraps, stb. Its color is usually dark gray, or yellow, it smells unpleasant.

Minden, amit a biológiai szennyvíztisztítóról tudni érdemes 1. rész

Organic materials: The number one pollutant of wastewater is organic matter, which are able to decompose. Their decomposition is different, carried out by naturally occurring microorganisms, for which they need a non-negligible amount of oxygen, which they withdraw from their environment. In the open air, this is not a problem, however, they only have a limited amount of oxygen in the water, thus, they take precious oxygen from higher organisms (for example from fish), thereby deteriorating the quality of the water.

Suspended matter: Solid particles in wastewater are called suspended solids. The suspended matter content of wastewater can be determined by measurement. Suspended materials are dangerous, because they can easily silt up watercourses, channels.

Other: Domestic wastewater also contains many other substances, such as washing down the drain fats, oil, soap residue.

Based on the above, it is clearly visible, that wastewater treatment is primarily a biological process, therefore, it is extremely important, to avoid different medicines, chemicals, spraying agents, oils, introducing fats into waste water, because these substances destroy the beneficial bacteria, which help to break down waste water.

This would have been the first part of our article series, in which we wrote about general information about wastewater and wastewater treatment equipment. Curious about the sequel? Stay tuned next week, because we will reveal it in the second half of our series of articles, what are the main advantages of a sewage treatment plant, and we will also share the operating principle of the equipment with the readers.
